The Chair in Family-Owned Enterprises (CFOE) is a joint initiative by Esade and Andbank, led by María José Parada (Professor in Esade’s Department of Strategy and General Management) and Nely Mayoral (Global Head of the Family Office Unit at Andbank Group). Its mission is to support the long-term success and sustainability of family-owned businesses.

Acting as a bridge between practice, research, and education across three key pillars—performance, purpose, and well-being—the Chair addresses challenges such as generational alignment and the loss of entrepreneurial spirit, while promoting innovation, shared legacy, and sustainable impact. It also explores how family-owned businesses can serve as drivers of social transformation through their identity, values, and vocation for service.
