Matthew Merelo

Matthew McLaughlan Merelo was a research assistant at Esade’s Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics (EsadeGeo), where he held various responsibilities in energy and industrial policy projects. He graduated in 2023 with a Master’s in International Relations from IBEI and in 2021 in International Business Management and Languages from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh). His interests include the green transition and European Union politics. He is currently a junior visiting researcher in CIDOB’s Global Talent Program.
