Omar holds a PhD in Economics from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He has worked for five years in the DG Economics of the Banco de España, and visited the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His areas of expertise are macroeconomics, fiscal policy, and credit market frictions. He was a member of the ESCB MPC Workstream on Climate Change and Monetary Policy, and the ESCB WGF Expert Team on Climate change. He is currently advising the Banco de España on the introduction of climate change risks in the bank stress test scenarios.
