Rafael Sardá is senior scientist of the National Research Council of Spain (CSIC) and an academic collaborator of Esade since 1991. He is developing research and applications in the frontier between social and ecological systems, how they work and interact and how to cope with present and emerging global environmental problems.
His research areas include ocean governance, soft-bottom marine benthic ecology and sustainability. He is author of over 150 research papers. Sardá has been group leader or co-leader in more than 20 national and international research projects. He represents the CSIC in international expert group consultations related to coastal and marine research affairs.
