DigitalWORK: Fair, equitable and transparent digitalization of work
Social 17 September 2025
Algorithms, platforms and AI are rewriting the rules of work. But as digitalization accelerates, job quality, equality and workers’ rights hang in the balance.
The digital transformation of work is reshaping how, where and under what conditions people work. While new technologies offer opportunities for innovation and flexibility, they also bring significant risks to job quality, equality, and workers’ rights. How can we build a future of work that is not only digital but also fair, equitable and transparent?
The DigitalWORK research project addresses the major governance challenges arising from the digitalization of work. It is led by Anna Ginès, Associate Professor at Esade Law School and director of the Institute of Labor Studies, and Raquel Serrano Olivares, Professor of Labor Law at the University of Barcelona.
