We begin our new academic year with a new Director General, Daniel Traça – whose appointment is effective from 1 September 2024. In this video, Daniel Traça emphasizes the key role that educators must play in inspiring students to reach their full potential and make a positive impact on society. Under his leadership, Esade will focus on attracting and training the best talent in the world – and for the world.

Daniel Traça has a PhD in economics from Columbia University (New York) and a degree in the same subject from Nova School of Business and Economics (Lisbon), where he served as dean from 2015 to 2022. In addition to an extensive academic career, he has also worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the European Commission.
