Esade recently presented From ESG to the E-ESG Model: the central role of employees in corporate sustainability. This report gathers the initial results of the E-ESG Model project, led by the Esade Center for LeadershipS and Sustainability and supported by Alsea and Bonpreu. The initiative proposes an evolution of traditional ESG criteria, placing employees at the heart of corporate sustainability.
The E-ESG Model aims to distinguish talent management as an essential pillar, giving it its own category of analysis. This means expanding the traditional ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria to create the E-ESG model, where the E for Employees is given the prominence it deserves. The proposal is based on the conviction that only if organizations are sustainable for their employees can they make solid progress in the other ESG areas.
In this podcast, Àngel Castiñeira, director of Esade’s Chair of Leadership and Sustainability, speaks with Mar Romero, Director of People and ESG at Alsea, and Carlos Cortés, the project’s lead researcher, to explore the E-ESG Model in depth. Together, they discuss how this model can serve as a guide for talent management and as a reference framework for advancing corporate sustainability.
