At the end of 2022, ChatGPT burst into our lives. For most people, generative AI sparked a mix of fascination and fear. There were apocalyptic messages, but also enthusiastic views presenting this technology as the solution to all our problems. Today, we’re still here, the world has not ended, and we still face the same problems (or perhaps even a few more). Has AI really changed everything and we just haven’t realized it yet? Or are we still in the middle of the process?

Qué hacer cuando todo cambIA (Planeta) is the new book by Esteve Almirall, Associate Professor in the Department of Operations, Innovation and Data Sciences at Esade, director of the Center for Innovation in Cities, and an expert in innovation and technology. We spoke with him about the pace of adoption of new technologies, the European debate over AI regulation, the effects of the trade war on the AI industry, and the limitations of academia in taking part in contemporary discussions. He also introduces us to a new innovation model to help us understand the disruptions shaping today’s world.
