Alicia Muñoz Lombardía is Deputy Secretary of the Board of Santander Spain and Director of the Legal Department of Commercial Banking, Governance and Regulation. She is an independent director and chairwoman of the appointments and remuneration committee of Canal de Isabel II and non-executive chairwoman of Santander Seguros y Reaseguros. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aranzadi-La Ley Foundation.

She has a degree in Law and Corporate Counsel (ICADE E-1), has completed the Esade-Wharton AMP and is certified by IASE in Sustainable Finance.  She is an expert in corporate governance, banking law, ESG and for the last two years she has been responsible for the transformation of the General Secretariat of Santander Spain. She is a regular lecturer, has participated in collective publications and teaches at various universities and graduate schools. She has spent her entire professional career in Grupo Santander in various management positions in the General Secretary's Office and Compliance.
