Ariadna Dumitrescu

Ariadna Dumitrescu is an Associate Professor of Finance at Esade. She earned her PhD in Economics from IDEA, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Bucharest. She is a member of the Securities and Markets Stakeholder Group of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), a member of the Expert Economists Group in the Financial Field of the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV), a member of the Expert Group of the European Climate, Infrastructure, and Environment Executive Agency, an advisor for Green Assist (Green Services for Sustainable Investment Support), and a board member of the European Financial Management Association.

Her research focuses on the strategic behavior of market participants and the role of information in investor decision-making, with applications in market microstructure, asset management, and sustainable finance. Her findings have been published in journals such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Financial Management, Economics Letters, and Journal of Financial Markets, among others. She has been an invited speaker at prestigious events, including the Sustainability Board of SIX Swiss Exchange Group, the 9th Annual Conference of the International Corporate Governance Society, Life Sciences Impact Day, Impact and Return by AltamarCAM, the Esade Student Finance Society, "Towards More Sustainable Finance: Challenges and Opportunities," the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV), and the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP).

She teaches courses on Financial Markets and Institutions, Financial Economics, and Sustainable Finance at undergraduate, master's, and executive levels. Her teaching portfolio also includes Corporate Finance, Business Valuation, Derivatives Markets, Risk Management, Financial Modeling, and Market Microstructure, among other subjects.
