Carmen Ansotegui is a professor in the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting at Esade. She holds a PhD. from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master in Mathematics and Derivatives, a Master in Economic Theory from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona and a degree in Business Administration from the University of Zaragoza.

Her research activity has focused on Asset Valuation. She is currently focused on the determinants of productivity and profitability of the Spanish firm. In more than 30 years of teaching at Esade she has taught courses in Capital Markets, Derivatives, Corporate Finance and Financial Strategy. She is currently the department's representative in the Alumni Finance Club, and a member of the IBEX Technical Committee.
