David Murillo is Associate Professor of the Department of Society, Politics and Sustainability at Esade. He has worked in the financial sector in commercial banking, in the public sector as a local development agent and in the non-profit sector as an NGO manager. He has developed consultancy and advisory tasks in the field of corporate social responsibility for the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Spanish Ministry of Industry, UNDP and UNIDO, the International Labour Organization and the Inter-American Development Bank, as well as for a number of large companies.

He has been a visiting or guest professor at multiple universities around the world, including Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (Germany), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Universidad del PacĂ­fico and ESAN (Peru) and Sogang Business School (Korea). His academic research focuses on business ethics, economic sociology, geopolitical thinking and globalization.
