On the occasion of the second edition of the program The impact of geopolitics on the board of directors, Esade’s Center for Corporate Governance talks to Alicia García-Herrero, Senior Fellow at Bruegel and chief economist for Asia-Pacific at Natixis. Hosted by José Manuel Paredes.
García-Herrero describes a context of increasing uncertainty and global anxiety, which has intensified with Donald Trump's return to power. The questioning of the Transatlantic Alliance, the loss of geostrategic reference points, and the use of tariffs as a tool of pressure are destabilizing the economic and trade order. The expert warns that the uncertainty caused by these tensions affects investment and global value chains more than the tariffs themselves.
