Silvia Romboli has a law degree from the University of Pisa (Italy), and doctorates in constitutional law from the University of Seville, and in constitutional justice and protection of basic rights from the University of Pisa.

Her main lines of research are related to constitutional justice, and the protection of basic rights (especially for minorities and the most vulnerable groups) within a comparative perspective; and those areas of supranational law that directly touch on classical themes of constitutional law (sources of law, national sovereignty, and multi-level protection of rights).

She is the author of articles and several book chapters in national and international scientific journals, and participates in numerous research projects that receive European, national, and regional funding.
