Namrata Goyal is an Assistant Professor of People Management at Esade and Director of the DecisionLab. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia Business School after she received a Ph.D. in social psychology, from The New School for Research, New York, and a B.A. (with Honors) in psychology and communication studies from York University, Toronto. Her research interests lie in three domains: social norms, culture, and judgments and decision making. Specifically, she investigates how social norms shape memories, the positive and negative consequences of breaking social norms, and how beliefs in karma affect antisocial (e.g., revenge) and prosocial (e.g., helping) behaviors.  

Her research has been published in numerous academic journals, including Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Perspectives in Psychological Science, Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Developmental Review, and featured in popular media such as the BBC.
